Notes

After 15 years of existence, the crew of one of the top Rock- and Metal magazines in German language on the web has decided to put together a compilation with bands that they like. But just picking songs from existing albums would not pose an added value to the fans, so the bands were contacted and asked to raid their vaults for special tracks – alternative versions, unreleased songs or remixes. The success was considerable and METALLIANCE Volume 1 became reality in no more than three months!

This compilation contains ten songs by ten fantastic bands of which many a name will ring a bell for underground connoisseurs. Here is the complete tracklist:
1. WATCHTOWER (USA) - The Size Of The Matter - formerly released only on a compilation of the German Rock Hard magazine
Technical Progressive Thrash from The US, one of the best known names in the genre after their masterpieces "Energetic Disassembly" and "Control And Resistence". On Vocals Alan Tecchio, Guitar Ron Jarzombek!
2. SEVENTH SIN (Canada) - Sign Of The Wolf - taken from their third Demo EP; this song will not appear on their forthcoming debut album
Power Metal from Canada, the band will release their debut album end of this year
3. GODSLAVE (Germany) - Vodcarnivore - taken from "Thrashed Volume III" EP
Thrash from a very limited release of 222 copies, now long out of print
4. KILLERS (France) - Histoire d'un Homme - previously unreleased on CD
Heavy Metal from one of the oldeat French Metal bands. This song was featured on their DVD as background music but never released on CD yet.
5. TERRAFYGHT (The Netherlands) - Lost Pride - taken from their first Demo EP;
Melodic Metal from a young band with only one demo to date.
6. MEMENTO WALTZ (Italy) - Complex Delirium - previously unreleased on CD;
Technical Progressive Thrash like on their acclaimed debut "Division By Zero". This is a demo song that was not used for said debut album.
7. DARK SUNS (Germany) - Something In The Way - previously unreleased on CD;
Rock with a progressive mind, wind instruments and a very sentimental performance of one of the most underratd NIRVANA-songs.
8. LEVEL FIELDS (Germany/USA) - ReMarquezable - previously unreleased on CD;
Heavy Metal from Alan Tecchio (ex-Watchtower, ex-Hades, ex-Non Fiction) together with Marco Ahrens from German Progressive Metal Band POVERTY'S NO CRIME.
9. MECHANICAL ORGANIC (Australia) - I see Black - previously unreleased on CD;
Progressive Metal from down under. The track was written for their latest release "This Global Hive Part Two" but did not fit anymore so it was finished specifically for this compilation.
10. WARDOG (USA) - Clouds of Magellan - previously unreleased on CD;
Heavy Metal, Tom Gattis style. The mastermind of TENSION, BALLISTIC and WARDOG is featured with an exclusive track sung in Klingon! Really!

Editor Frank Jaeger says about the project: "We have taken the legendary Metal Massacre Compilation series from Metal Blade records as a role model. We wanted to create a compilation of which people will talk in a few years saying 'That was the album with the great version of track x' or 'remember that band Y has this exclusve song on Metalliance Volume 1?'. We hope that the fans will listen to this compilation still in a few years as we do with Brian Slagel's series today. That the start was met with so much enthusiasm by the bands and musicians is incredible. We thank all the bands on volume 1 as fans, because that is what we are: music fans. And this compilation is from fans for fans, made by some of the best bands around in their genres and countries."
