Johnny Cash's "One Piece at a Time" Cadillac. Cash is in the driver's seat and Bruce Fitzpatrick is standing at the far right. The singer leaves his home in Kentucky in 1949 to pursue work at General Motors in Detroit, Michigan. Bruce Fitzpatrick, owner of Abernathy Auto Parts and Hilltop Auto Salvage in Nashville, Tennessee, was asked by the promoters of the song to build the vehicle for international promotion. Fitzpatrick had all the models of Cadillacs mentioned in the song when it was released and built a car using the song as a model. The result was presented to Cash in April 1976. It was parked outside The House of Cash in Hendersonville, Tennessee, until someone could find a place to store it.

The album features Cash with his backing band the Tennessee Three. It also features a total of four performances by Linda Ronstadt, Roy Clark and Foster Brooks. The album is the soundtrack to a television special featuring the concert (the same narrator from the broadcast can be heard introducing acts on the album). Now, up to now my plan went all right 'Til we tried to put it all together one night And that's when we noticed that something was definitely wrong. The transmission was a fifty three And the motor turned out to be a seventy three And when we tried to put in the bolts all the holes were gone  . More lyrics from the album.
