Young Lions, released in May 1990 (see 1990 in music), is the fifth solo album by Adrian Belew, and his second on Atlantic Records. Released by Atlantic while Belew was on the Sound+Vision Tour with David Bowie, Belew serving as musical director as well as guitarist, the album features vocal assists from Bowie on two tracks ("Pretty Pink Rose", written by Bowie; and "Gunman", co-written by Bowie and Belew).

Young Lions is as solid an album as Adrian Belew had put out in some time, including his work with the Bears.

This Adrian Belew solo album consists of ten straightforward rock songs, most of which sound like bad ELO. Perhaps this is partially due to the fact that the album contains two covers, one of which is "Not Alone Anymore," originally by The Traveling Wilburys. The problem is, not only is this album devoid of any progressive elements, it's chock full of second-rate pop-rock.
