Muddy Waters is my album! I came into the light on this one. I left some of those drugs alone and started smoking more weed and I was in the gym. I had a kid and I started to slow down. So I was getting grown on this album, finding myself and getting more in-tuned with the rap game. Supported by the singles It’s Like That (My Big Brother) with K-Solo, Whateva Man with Erick Sermon, and Pick It Up, Muddy Waters achieved gold status within two months after peaking at on the Billboard 200 and on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts

However, Muddy Waters isn’t the perfect rap album, it’s much to repetitive, and the smooth, trippy atmosphere is only ruined by a single track that differentiates from what the rest of the album is trying to create. It’s Like that (My Big Brother) is not terrible, Redman certainly sounds fine, and the beat doesn’t lack, but it does differ in the way that instead of being more set as background music, is more aimed towards outshining Redman and K-Solo, though to be fair, K-Solo’s performance is terrible as usual

One of the most underappreciated to ever do it, and here, Redman is just unstoppable. His whit is uncontrollable and, at times here, he reaches peaks of MC presence that nobody has surpassed. Please, listen if you haven't.
