On May 4, Superheaven’s second album, Ours Is Chrome, will be released through SideOneDummy. Today, we are happy to premiere the Philadelphia-area band’s new album in advance of its official release next week (listen above). About the album title, singer and guitarist Taylor Madison says: It refers to how people who aren’t familiar with underground music, and who only listen to the radio, think that if you’re in a touring band, you’re rich and famous. Will Yip produced Ours Is Chrome. He also produced Superheaven’s debut album, Jar (2013), and he has worked with like-minded bands Title Fight, the Wonder Years and Circa Survive. Will is a good friend of ours and we are very comfortable working with him, says Madison.

Superheaven's Ours Is Chrome opens up with I've Been Bored, an incredible track with choruses complimented by loud, droning guitars, and monotone verses backed with simple, slow riffs. I could almost be led to believe that this album was all one long, drawn out song. After listening to the album through twice, I couldn't find a single thing that made a song unique from the others, as they all pretty much sounded exactly the same, and there weren't any elements or any sort of experimentation thrown in at all to keep you interested. It would be a bit extreme to say that they're beating a dead horse, but they certainly aren't pushing themselves in any direction, rather, they are continuing the sound that they've held since the beginning.

Ours Is Chrome follows Superheaven’s 2013 debut, Jar. To celebrate the good news, the band has also debuted a brand-new music video for the record’s lead single, I’ve Been Bored.
