Bouncing off the Satellites is the fourth studio album by American new wave band the B-52's, released on September 8, 1986. It was recorded in July 1985 and was produced by Tony Mansfield. Founding member and guitarist Ricky Wilson died of AIDS after the album was completed, but several months prior to the album's release
We are all big music fans. Fred had a huge record collection. Before the 1986 album Bouncing Off the Satellites was released, Ricky Wilson died of Aids-related illness, having kept his illness secret from all of his bandmates except Strickland until just before his death. We saw Ricky get thin and asked, ‘Are you OK?’ And he said, ‘Oh, I stopped eating Mexican food. He loved Mexican food. Pierson says the title track of Cosmic Thing encapsulates the record. Half the album is very bittersweet, but Cosmic Thing is the forward-thinking song, and it’s political. Cosmic Thing lifted the B-52s into proper fame. The singles Love Shack and Roam were hits pretty much all around the world.
Bouncing off the Satellites. is by far their most underrated collection of tunes and it has. such quirky, zany, off the wall lyrics and attitude to match and its so danceable. They can harmonize so well together. Keith Strickland has picked up where Ricky left off and has become. a great guitarist, writer and inspiration, THEY ARE NOT DONE YET!! 10 people found this helpful. But there are some touching and emotional and fascinating pieces on here. Summer of Love and Theme for a Nude Beach capture summertime in that era very well.
The ambient disc harmonizes over the first impeccably well, with the static ambient noise creating a fantastic background to disc 1. In a way, this is one of the most overwhelming post metal albums I’ve heard. Surpassing even Neurosis on this front, the music found on The Galilean Satellites is cathartic to the extreme. The music almost never lets up its level of atmospheric intensity; it’s cathartic, draining and beautiful. Rosetta have made a very good debut album with The Galilean Satellites, heavily influenced by the works of Isis and Neurosis, Rosetta succeed in creating one of the most engaging post metal releases to date. With songs moving from surging crescendo to quiet instrumental interludes, The Galilean Satellites is an album that needs to be experienced in full to achieve the desired effect.
I don't get why people bag on this one so much. I think this is one of my favourite B-52's albums, there are so many good tracks here it's really hard to pick a favourite, So I'm not going to, Top LP, Love it! Reply 2 Helpful.

The chorus for the song is really catchy "I was out on the radio starting to change, somewhere out in the middle of america its starting to rain, can you tell me the things you remember about me, and oh have you seen me lately. 3/5. Millers Angel's This is one of the best tracks on the album, its.
