You're All I Need is the second studio album by soul musicians Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, released in August 1968 on Motown-subsidiary label Tamla Records
You're All I Need equals the debut of Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell in every way except chart position and newness. It reached number 60 on the pop charts, a good showing but 31 rungs lower than United, their debut. It includes arguably their finest recording, "You're All I Need to Get By," a testament to their singing skills and the writing/producing talents of Nickolas Ashford & Valerie Simpson - and "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing" is no slouch either

YOU'RE ALL I NEED (1968; with Tammi Terrell) 1/2 (. out of 5) Stronger album tracks and a more unified feel make Marvin and Tammi's second release together superior to their first. The big hits "Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing" ( Pop, R&B) and "You're All I Need To Get By" ( Pop, R&B) are two of the finest singles to ever grace the Motown label. The third single "Keep On Lovin' Me Honey" ( Pop, R&B) was less successful, but is just as amazing as any of the duo's other hits.
None of this mattered to Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell who were riding high on the success of their previous album, from which this one is indistinguishable. That tragedy was just around the corner did nothing to prevent them expressing all the optimism one would expect from a young couple on the cusp of international stardom .
