Stand out tune from Beckett's self-titled 1991 album. Pete Beckett is most famous for his song 'Baby Come Back' made with his original band 'Player'.

Peter Beckett was born in the Aigburth section of Liverpool England. In the early sixties, he began taking an interest in music; listening to his older brother's records, and "air" guitaring with a tennis racket to the radio. He was also greatly influenced by listening to Radio London and Radio Luxemburg. Like most teens in the 60's, Peter discovered the music of the Beatles. He would frequent some of their lunch time sets at the famous Cavern Club. He was impressed with what he heard and saw, and decided that this was what he wanted to do with his life.

Peter Beckett (born 10 August 1948) is an English musician and songwriter who has written songs for many prominent recording artists, his own bands and solo work, and for several films. He is likely best known as the lead singer and guitarist for 1970s soft rock group Player, which scored a . number one hit in 1977 with "Baby Come Back". In 1991, Beckett released his first solo album, Beckett. He also joined up with the Little River Band in 1989 and toured with them for over eight years. Getting back together with Ronn Moss in 1995, they recorded Player's fifth album, Lost in Reality and toured the United States. Since then, Beckett has produced, written and played on two solo albums for Ronn Moss and composed music for the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful, which starred Moss. Beckett and Moss had a world tour in 2006 which included some dates in the United States.

Peter Beckett and . Crowley met each other at a Hollywood Party in early 1977. The two found each other interesting in their diversity: Beckett, a rock musician from Liverpool, England and Crowley, a country singer from Texas. Within a week, they started writing songs together. A short time later, they enlisted the help of Ronn Moss on bass and John Friesen on drums and Player was born. Crowley left the band to record a solo country album & Ronn Moss left the band to pursue acting. Beckett continued to write and produce several more albums as Player. Concurrently, he spent nine years in Little River Band, writing several singles for them as well as a featured performer singing Baby Come Back at every show.

Peter Beckett was never in the band Beckett. Here's a list of the musicians on this album. That being said this is a great album and a must have for prof rock and Iron Maiden fans. Beckett was an English hard rock band formed in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1970. The band released one self-titled album in 1974 and disbanded shortly thereafter. Original singer Rob Turner was killed in a car crash and replaced by Terry Wilson-Slesser, who would later go on to perform with Back Street Crawler and then Geordie whose previous front man Brian Johnson left to join AC/DC in 1980.
