John Howard Carpenter (born January 16, 1948) is an American filmmaker, screenwriter and composer. Although Carpenter has worked with various movie genres, he is associated most commonly with horror, action, and science fiction films of the 1970s and 1980s. Most films of Carpenter's career were initially commercial and critical failures, with the notable exceptions of Halloween (1978), The Fog (1980), Escape from New York (1981), and Starman (1984).

John Carpenter's work exists best in the full spectrum of its experience, and that truth is not lost on Lost Themes. At times, the record can feel like half of a picture, but elsewhere it truly shows off the best of one of cinematic music's most honorable contributors. As the director and composer behind dozens of classic movies, Carpenter has established a reputation as one of the greatest filmmakers in the history of modern cinema, as well as one of its most influential musicians.

A great choice of project from Nang, who invite Architeq, King DJ and Sare Havlicek to re-create their favourite John Carpenter soundtrack moments. And some surprising results too, with Architeq bringing 'Christine' to a sinister dancefloor climax and Bottin remixing analogue funk into Havlicek's take on 'Escape From New York'. Could have missed by a country mile but it's a complete and faithful re-take on some Carpenter classics.
