Alla Béla Bartók, allegro energico pour quatuor à cordes.
Bartók 's late return to Classical forms draws from Quatuor Diotima a Beethovenian tone. Sample the finale of the String Quartet No. 5, which is one of the most exciting readings out there. In general, you might disagree with a thing or two here, but "exciting" is a good general word.

The overall tone of the album is rather light. The darker, deeper, unfathomable aspects of the music come across more in the articulation of the phrases than in the bright tonal colors. Bartók: Intégrale des quatuors à cordes. After much hesitation, the French quartet Diotima turn their attention to Bartók's string quartets, offering up a recording of all six at once. The result is a cycle which values precision - the perfect fit for a composer who incorporated highly varied playing techniques and sonic forms. The overall tone of the album is rather light. The String Quartet No. 4 by Béla Bartók was written from July to September 1928 in Budapest. It is one of six string quartets by Bartok. The work is in five movements: Allegro. Prestissimo, con sordino. Allegretto pizzicato. This work, like the String Quartet No. 5, and several other pieces by Bartók, exhibits an "arch" structure - the first movement is thematically related to the last, and the second to the fourth with the third movement standing alone
