Whitfield put a totally new arrangement on "Stop the War Now," popularized Edwin Starr and turned the rocker into a mammoth head song. It's not quite rock n' roll, but 'Solid Rock' certainly has a punchier sound than the preceding album in spots. The two most important numbers here are 'Superstar' and 'Take a Look Around', with the former being an attack on Ruffin and Kendricks.
