The album as a whole is absolutely colossal. The feel is right, the tone, the screams, the despair. It is quite antagonistic to what happens in the cover art, that aside from the logo that may give away what's happening here, this could be a deathcore album. Appearances can be deceiving and with this one, you would sure think that Sacred Son's self-titled album would be that. You would not even think this to be a black metal album, save for the band logo. But, after you've listened to this, then go back to look at the cover, you know what?
Sacred Son (2017) by Sacred Son. Genres: Black Metal. Songs: Cleave the Alicorn, Apocalyptic Winter, Eternal Light (interlude), Sepulchral Ritual, Apocalyptic Winter (demo).
Listen to music from Sacred Son like Apocalyptic Winter, Ethereal Light (Interlude) & more. Created in the ligature of a third-life crisis sat at my dining room table in my dressing gown, the scent of the flower 'gypsophilia paniculata' in my nostrils.
A new album cover is apparently causing quite a stir in certain corners of the extreme metal community. But not exactly for the reason you'd expect: It would seem that some metalheads are taking exception with British black metal band Sacred Son's new album art for simply being, well, just too dang idyllic. The split in opinion on the cover has been quite something, Sacred Son's Dane Cross tells Kerrang of the album cover commotion, one person lauding it as 'Andy Warhol-levels of genius,' the next calling it, 'fucking hipster trash.
