This is a man's, man's, man's world But it wouldn't be nothing, nothing Without a woman or a girl. Oh how, how a man needs a woman I sympathize with the man who don't have a woman.
It's a Man's Man's Man's World. It's a Man's Man's Man's World" is a song by James Brown and Betty Jean Newsome. Brown recorded it on February 16, 1966 in a New York City studio and released it as a single later that year. It reached No. 1 on the Billboard R&B chart and No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100. Its title is a word play on the 1963 comedy film It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.

It lists man's life enhancing inventions, but the singer admits he would be nothing without a woman. Brown developed the impassioned ballad from some lyrics written by a woman, Betty Newsome. This was originally called "It's A Man's World', but James Brown added the extra words to the title as a reference to the 1963 hit comedy It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. Brown had been working on this song for years; his singer Tammy Montgomery (later known as Tammi Terrell) recorded "I Cried" in 1963, which sounds very similar. And exactly one year earlier on May 1st, 1965 his album 'Grits and Soul' was at on Billboard's Hot R&B Albums chart. Randy from Houghton Lake, MiI was only 10 years old in 1966 but James Brown's music had an impact on everyone didn't matter your age, race, sex, or social status his music was that powerful.
