Originally conceived as an actual TV Special, FZ created this program in 1982 at Compact Video. Late in 1982 he made a D2 master at Kober Post (with Booey Kober). It is just ever so slightly different from the original, in part, to conform to the then current Technology, Laserdisc! Voodnnnn.
This Program contains excerpted material from not one, bur two Performances. And this is the official FZ Version of The Dub Room Special - just the way he left it. These 2 programs are slated for DVD as whole concerts, mixed in multi-channel. Give yourself up! You will be completely surrounded.

The Dub Room Special (2007). Buffalo is a live album by Frank Zappa, posthumously released in April 2007 as a two-CD set, consisting of the complete concert given on October 25, 1980 at the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium in Buffalo, New York with a band that has previously been heard on Tinsel Town Rebellion (1981) and Shut Up 'n Play Yer Guitar (1981)
The Dub Room Special! August 24th 2007. When I was 14 years old I made the decision that I was going to find and purchase every Frank Zappa record. In 1984, this took some doing since all of his records from the 60’s and 70’s were out of print. I would take buses all over . and the Valley for these records, every one of which had a huge, powerful effect on me.
The Dub Room Special is an album by Frank Zappa, released in August 2007. It is a soundtrack for the film of the same name, and combines recordings from a TV-show performance on August 27, 1974, and from a concert in New York City on October 31, 1981. The album, originally prepared for vinyl release by Zappa, was first sold at Zappa Plays Zappa shows in the United States during August 2007. Retrieved 22 July 2011.

This television special from the early 1980s by Frank Zappa is an amazing amalgamation of concert footage from 1974 and 1982. The performances by all musicians involved are intense, notably those of percussionist Ruth Underwood and singer/saxophone player Napoleon Murphy Brock.
