Rapture of the Deep is the 18th studio album by English hard rock band Deep Purple, released in November 2005. It is the fourth studio album from Deep Purple since Steve Morse joined the band in 1994 and the second to feature veteran keyboardist Don Airey. The album was produced by Mike Bradford, who also produced the band's previous release, Bananas.

FYI: Copy protection only works on Windows PCs. These discs can be ripped on a Mac without issues.

For an unoffical China knock-off this is a real nice release!! Great sound and professional packaging.

Incredibly loud mastering. Though the CD master doesn't have a lot of dynamic range, the tracks on vinyl sound extremely muffled like they're playing out of a blown speaker. Maybe it's just the poor mixing, but Ian Gillan's voice sounds like he's mouthing into the microphone. My copy also has some surface noise on side one even after cleaning it; it's very prominent during the beginning of Money Talks. I'd advise against purchasing this record unless you're a serious collector.

Although I don't like that Money Talks seems to not have any melody at all to my ears (I can't really remember anything about the song other than the almost-spoken asides), and Girls Like That has an untraditional structure (were they experimenting on these two songs?), the rest of the album is pure Steve Morse-era Deep Purple. Although Don Airey doesn't add a whole lot to the procedings, Jon Lord wasn't a huge presence on any of the albums without Ritchie Blackmore, so I can cut Airey some slack. Steve Morse fills the album with his guitar. And Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye proves that Ian Paice is a very underrated drummer who should be on everyone's "Best Drummer" list.
