Live-Evil is an album by Miles Davis, much of which was recorded live at the Cellar Door on December 19, 1970, and part of which was recorded in Columbia's Studio B, with different personnel, on February 6, and June 3, 4, 1970.

Live-Evil is an album of both live and studio recordings by American jazz musician Miles Davis. They were performed as lengthy, dense jams in the jazz-rock style, while the studio recordings were renditions of Hermeto Pascoal compositions. The album was originally released on November 17, 1971.

Live-Evil is one of Miles Davis' most confusing and illuminating documents. As a double album, it features very different settings of his band - and indeed two very different bands. The double-LP CD package is an amalgam of a December 19, 1970, gig at the Cellar Door, which featured a band comprised of Miles, bassist Michael Henderson, drummer Jack DeJohnette, guitarist John McLaughlin, saxophonist Gary Bartz, Keith Jarrett on organ, and percussionist Airto. Parts of the album comprise live recordings of Davis' 1970 performance at the Cellar Door, which producer Teo Macero subsequently pieced together in production. It also features his recordings at Columbia's Studio B, with different personnel, on February 6 and June 3–4, 1970. Live Evil is the first official live album by British heavy metal band Black Sabbath. The previously released Live at Last (1980) was not sanctioned by the band. Live Evil peaked at number 37 on the Billboard Pop Albums chart. The Live Evil album was recorded on the Mob Rules tour. The sleeve states that the songs were recorded in Seattle, San Antonio and Dallas during the 1982 tour in support of the Mob Rules album, but doesn't give the venues or recording dates for the individual tracks.

Live-Evil was a concept and an album created in collaboration by Davis and Teo Macero, and it included both Cellar Door live material and studio recordings. The Cellar Door Sessions are simply a document of what one band was up to over the course of four nights. Listening to the Cellar Door evidence after all this time, it’s hard not to marvel at this band’s achievements. The results have been captured on three Miles Davis live albums: At Fillmore, Black Beauty and It’s About That Time. It’s fair to speculate that both performing for thousands of people, rather than a few dozen, and the massive commercial success of Bitches Brew galvanized Davis in forging ahead with the musical course that he had set.
