Russian surf music? Sure it's not serf music? Haha, well, this is actually quite a good album, for the most part. I read that guitarist Mick Antipov actually had actually recorded some earlier stuff using a home computer(and guitar, I guess) and there are a couple tracks on here that sound as if they were done in that manner, but it really doesn't matter to me. Overall this is an interesting and varied album, Surf with a Russian twist. Some tracks are quite beautiful, like "Walking", and some are more hard-edged, with one actually borrowing a riff from Motorhead. Strangely enough, "Cold Waves" reminds me of the band JJ-180 from Santa Cruz back in the late 70's and early 80's. At any rate, if you like instrumental surf and are looking for something a bit different, this is worth checking out.
