Evening Star is the second studio album by British musicians Robert Fripp and Brian Eno. It was recorded from 1974 to 1975 and released in December 1975. This album's recording and the preceding seven show European tour by the duo marked Fripp's first output after disbanding King Crimson and his last before temporarily retiring from music (at the time thought to be permanently) to study at the International Academy for Continuous Education in Sherborne House.

Fripp's guitar is less often recognizable as such; we frequently hear what resembles clouds of bowed strings drifting through each other. When it is recognizable, as on the title track, the guitar phrases seem deeply interwoven with the surrounding sounds rather than roaring over them

Fripp & Eno Evening Star DGM Live, Panegyric 1975; reissued 2008. By the time Fripp and Eno reconvened again in 1975, much had happened. The duo had taken to performing live on occasion and a portion of a show from a May, 1975 tour became the basis for the album's tranquil opener, "Wind on Water. Unlike Eno's ambient work, however, this music still managed to engage on a more direct level, with Fripp's phrases and Eno's evocative treatments creating a piece that works on a multitude of levels.

The nearly 30-minute ending piece, "An Index of Metals," keeps Evening Star from being a purely background listen as the loops this time contain a series of guitar distortions layered to the nth degree, Frippertronics as pure dissonance. As a culmination of Fripp and Eno's experiments, Evening Star shows how far they could go. Track Listing. Evening Star is a music studio album recording by FRIPP & ENO (Progressive ve Rock) released in 1975 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. Fripp and Eno's second collaborative effort marked a considerable advance on their debut. On vinyl, tracks 1 - 4 took up side 1 while the lengthy An Index Of Metals filled side 2, and the contrast between the two halves of the album was striking. Studio album by Fripp & Eno. Released. Track four, "Wind on Wind", is a short excerpt from Eno’s solo project Discreet Music, released at roughly the same time as Evening Star. It is not an exact duplication from that release, being mixed slightly differently.
