Most of Bob Marley's early music was recorded with Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer, who together with Marley were the most prominent members of The Wailers. In 1972, The Wailers had their first hit outside Jamaica when Johnny Nash covered their song "Stir It Up", which became a . hit. The 1973 album Catch a Fire was released worldwide, and sold well. It was followed by Burnin', which included the song "I Shot the Sheriff", of which a cover version by Eric Clapton became a hit in 1974.
marley and the wailers.
Uprising was the last album Bob Marley released in his lifetime. The day it reached the shops, Marley and the Wailers opened for Fleetwood Mac in Munich. Headlining at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, on 27 June, Marley and the Wailers attracted a crowd of 120,000, said to be an all-time attendance record for a concert in Italy and indeed Europe (in a stadium). At the 15,000-capacity Crystal Palace Bowl on 7 June, they headlined on a stage which fronted on to a pond in the London park.
Survival (Bob Marley & The Wailers album). Survival is the eleventh studio album by Bob Marley & The Wailers released in 1979. Survival is an album with an outwardly militant theme. Some critics speculate that this was due in part to criticism Marley received for the laid-back, ganja-soaked atmosphere of his previous release, "Kaya", which seemed to sidetrack the urgency of his message.
