Ultra is the ninth studio album by English electronic music band Depeche Mode. It was released on 14 April 1997 by Mute Records. It was the band's first album following the departure of Alan Wilder, who had become disillusioned with life in the band. Wilder's departure and lead singer Dave Gahan's drug problems, which culminated in a near-fatal overdose, had caused speculation that Depeche Mode was finished.

Depeche mode best after Violator, hell, maybe even better. It is spiritual and soulfull album with dark elements from Black Celebration. Best song are Walking In My Shoes, In Your Room, Mercy In You and Higher Love. By far the best post-millenium album; glad not to see it at the bottom tough, shouldn't be over ULTRA.
