This is the first Canadian issue of this album on CD, as are all Rush CD's released on Anthem Records with the prefix ANC. Subsequent CD reissues that came after had prefixes such as; ANK, VANK, WANK, and WAGK. This ANC issue is a Canadian CRC pressing which is stated next to barcode on back.
This release came in a standard jewel case (black tray) with a 4 page fold-out cover.

Moving Pictures is the eighth studio album by the Canadian rock band Rush, released on February 12, 1981, on Anthem Records. After touring to support their previous album, Permanent Waves (1980), the band started to write and record new material in August 1980 with co-producer Terry Brown. They continued to write songs with a more radio-friendly format, featuring tighter song structures and songs of shorter length compared to their early albums.

Moving Pictures (Rush album). Moving Pictures is the eighth studio album by Canadian rock band Rush. It was recorded and mixed from October to November 1980 at Le Studio in Morin-Heights, Quebec, Canada, and released on February 12, 1981. Building on their previous album, Permanent Waves, Moving Pictures follows a more radio-friendly format and includes several of the band's best-known songs, such as the singles "Tom Sawyer" and "Limelight", the rock radio standard "Red Barchetta", and the instrumental "YYZ"
Genre: Progressive Rock. This is Rush at their most tight, their most creative, their most to the point, and, to some, their best. It's all the experimentation and off the wall prog moments of their more experimental records while still maintaining that sense of true grit rock and roll that started them off, with a more loving relationship with synths shown in the last album.
Moving Pictures became the band’s biggest selling album in the . rising to on the Billboard charts. It remains Rush’s most popular and commercially successful studio recording. Rush’s complex songwriting and musical virtuosity reached new heights on this album.
Listen to Moving Pictures right now. As had always been the case where rock was concerned, function and form were of inarguable importance in 1981. If you’re predisposed to like certain kinds of music, and certain bands who exemplify certain kinds of music, it’s perfectly reasonable to seek signifiers so you can align yourself with your chosen tribe. Prog rock had represented a deeply engraved line in the sand – more of a fissure – even in its grandiloquent heyday, and it is generally accepted that punk ushered it smartly off the premises (though nothing is ever quite so cut-and-dried).
