The Seattle Improvised Music Festival is touted as the longest-running event of its kind in the United States-dedicated wholly to the music of the moment. Local and visiting artists are brought together, and spontaneous music happens, pulled from the cosmos and explored unencumbered by fixed tempos, chord progressions, melodies, or planned structure.
