While The Feral Wisdom does have many sections of immersive, churning black metal, they are spaced out between slowly shifting walls of ambiance that take up just as much space as the black metal. The track divisions are somewhat stifling to the album's experience, because the shifts between the ambient sections and the metal sections are so jarring that you never really know where one song begins and another ends anyways. This album twists, it turns, it writhes in technical prowess and bathes in ghostly atmospherics; Wormlust has not only come through with a competent album inspired by the dissonant technicality of newer bands like Deathspell Omega, but they do something completely original and unheard of with it.

This is some really intense psychedelic black metal with plenty of horrifying atmosphere. The Feral Wisdom is very dense, but equally rewarding after a few good listens. I highly recommend this album.
