The first Alice Cooper Group album came about in strange circumstances. The band was looking forward to working with Frank Zappa, a musician whom they greatly admired and an 'audition' was set up at Frank's home in Laurel Canyon, Los Angeles. The well known story follows that the band thought the audition was early in the morning (9AM says Dennis), but what Zappa had actually said was for the band to come over in the evening.
