John Renbourn was an English guitarist and composer. His discography consists of 20 studio albums, 5 live albums, 19 compilations, and 2 videos. In addition, his compositions and guitar work have been featured on a number of albums by other artists. 1965: John Renbourn (Transatlantic). 1966: Another Monday (Transatlantic). 1968: Sir John Alot of Merrie Englandes Musyk Thyng and ye Grene Knyghte (Transatlantic). 1970: The Lady and the Unicorn (Transatlantic). 1971: Faro Annie (Transatlantic).
Simply called John Renbourn and Stefan Grassman, the album is a genius production and project, The same year Renbourn and Grossman performed together in concert and here on this great release is that concert. There is the audio version and the DVD version in one package. The concert set is very good and a great snapshot of two masters at work. Renbourn had recorded with influences of Medieval, early classical, blues, jazz and folk music and has recorded as a duo with Bert Jansch and Dorris Henderson as well as being in the group Pentangle and as a solo artist.

Stefan Grossman is an American acoustic fingerstyle guitarist and singer. His discography consists of 22 studio albums, 2 live albums, 12 compilations, 22 videos, and 14 collaborations with other artists. In addition, his production, compositions and guitar work have been featured on a number of albums by other artists. 1966 : How to Play Blues Guitar (Elektra) reissued in 1971 on XTRA with Aurora Block listed as collaborator. 1968 : Aunt Molly's Murray Farm (Fontana).
Stefan Grossman (born April 16, 1945) is an American acoustic fingerstyle guitarist and singer, music producer and educator, and co-founder of Kicking Mule records. In 1961 Renbourn toured the South West with Mac MacLeod and repeated the tour in 1963. On returning from the South West Renbourn and MacLeod recorded a demo tape together. Renbourn briefly played in an R&B band while studying at the Kingston College of Art in London. Although the British "Folk Revival" was underway, most folk clubs were biased towards traditional, unaccompanied folk songs, and guitar players were not always welcome.
