One of Funkadelic's goofiest releases, Let's Take It to the Stage also contains more P-Funk all-time greats as well, making for a grand balance of the serious and silly. Perhaps the silliest is at the end - there's not much else one can call the extended oompah/icing rink start of "Atmosphere. It may only be two and a half minutes long, but it alone makes the album a classic. Hearing Bootsy Collins' unmistakable vocals is usually enough to get anything on the crazy tip, but "Be My Beach" (Collins' Funkadelic vocal debut) just makes it all the more fun, as does the overall air of silly romance getting nuttier as it goes
Music For Your Mother is a compilation album by Funkadelic featuring songs recorded for Westbound Records during the band's career with that label from 1968 to 1976. The compilation includes the A-sides and B-sides of every Funkadelic single released during Funkadelic's tenure at Westbound. Some of the tracks here originated as alternate versions of album tracks or as non-album B-sides, and some were previously unreleased. Two tracks, "I Miss My Baby" and "Baby I Owe You Something Good" (original version) were originally released by Westbound under the group name. Biological Speculation" (Clinton, Harris).

Originally released in April of 1975, Let's Take It To The Stage, is George Clinton's pioneering combo's seventh album for Westbound Records. Let's Take It To The Stage was the work of a group that had turned a corner, a combination of all the disparate aspects of Funkadelic's music up to that point: the extended jams, abrasive guitars, smooth ballads, direct vocals, psychedelic ingredients, sexual lyrics and dirty funk into the most short and to-the-point songs they'd ever recorded.
