Redirected from Black Ice (AC/DC album)). Black Ice is the 15th studio album by Australian hard rock band AC/DC. It was the band's fourteenth internationally released studio album and the fifteenth in Australia. Released internationally on 17 October 2008, it was produced by Brendan O'Brien. It marked the band's first original recordings since 2000's Stiff Upper Lip, with the eight-year gap being the longest between AC/DC's successive studio albums.

So let me get that off the bat straight away by saying that Black Ice isn’t as good as Back in Black or Highway to Hell. But what Black Ice is, is a rampant return to the top of Rock Mountain by the kings of bluesy Rock and Roll.

Black Ice Album tab by AC/DC. I am sure someone else can do it better anyways. At least these are the main parts. C/DC - Anything Goes, from Black Ice Tuning: Standard. INTRO: ANGUS Fill 1 at 0:08 (Used often throughout) -: - -15- -7-777-6-4-2-2-: - 00

AC/DC never rush to cut a record; they wait until Angus Young has collected enough riffs to hammer out an album's worth of songs, then they file in one by one to lay down their tracks with a big-budget producer, who inevitably gives them a clean, mammoth sound that's no different than what came before

Released October 17, 2008. About Black Ice 1 contributor. Among many of Sony Music’s art directors who volunteered to work for AC/DC, Joshua Marc Levy was chosen for the art, that had an approach to do it all graphic black on black. Levy said that since the album had many similarities with Back in Black – Black in the title, dark covers, and AC/DC resurfacing with a sound based on the band’s early work – the art was like a time travel, which is why there are so many psychedelic drawings. The album was received incredibly well, with Rock ‘n’ Roll Train being nominated for a Grammy award, and the album nominated for Album of the Year at the 2010 Grammy’s. Johnson and Angus Young said in 2010: I wouldn’t say you reinvent the wheel when you do something.

But what Black Ice is, is a rampant return to the top of Rock Mountain by the kings of bluesy rock and roll. AC/DC can write this kind of music in their sleep (and I would think Angus Young probably only dreams about his guitar), but the fact that even now they can release a record that is, for all intensive purposes, the same formula as they’ve done to death and still sound essential is nothing short of staggering. But the essential part of an AC/DC album for me is the road trip song, the one that you feel as if you should be in a massive Cadillac roaring down an American highway with it blaring on your stereo. Back in Black had You Shook Me all Night Long, Highway to Hell had that iconic title track and Black Ice has Big Jack, a rock and roll stomper perfect for any road tripping.
