Frank Black is the first solo album from the American alternative rock musician Frank Black. The album was recorded in 1992 and released on 9 March 1993 via 4AD, after the breakup of the Pixies. The album was similar in style, both musically and lyrically, to the Pixies' last album Trompe le Monde. Frank Black was characterized by a focus on UFOs and science fiction. Two singles from the album-"Los Angeles" and "Hang on to Your Ego"-were released in 1993.

Frank Black is in his car. Over the next two-and-a-half hours, he will do pitch perfect impressions of Bruce Springsteen, Mick Jones and Robyn Hitchcock among others. Black’s in a good mood. Black’s been writing songs for his next project after the second Grand Duchy album, Let The People Speak, which he’s promoting today: I have to decide to write a song and it takes me a while to get going. I’m writing a lot of songs right now. My family finds it a little difficult to communicate with me at these points. It soon becomes clear that however much of a pain in the arse the Quietus’ request might have seemed at first, Black definitely got into the task. He starts off by riffing on his relationship to his record collection - or rather, his lack of one: When I first started with the Pixies in the late-80s, I was a college student. I didn’t have a lot of records.

How does a company continue to do business when all of its infrastructure and more than two-thirds of its work force have been wiped out in a single day? That’s one of the questions asked, and answered, by Out of the Clear Blue Sky, Danielle Gardner’s eloquent insider documentary about the Sept. 11 destruction and subsequent rebirth of the investment firm Cantor Fitzgerald. We had no anything, Howard Lutnick, Cantor’s urbane and tireless chief executive, recalls of the days after the terrorist attacks when he and a handful of surviving staff members scrambled to resume trading

Through the sky (Up in the sky) You and I (Just you and I). Lost, lost in the heat of it all Girl you know you're lost Lost in the thrill of it all Miami, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Spain, lost Los Angeles, India, lost on a train, lost. The protagonist in the song is a drug supplier who uses his girlfriend as a drug mule. His lover gets lost in the intensity of the jet-setting lifestyle of drug trafficking and subsequent money and lavish gifts that come along with it. He believes that one day she will live a normal life away from this criminal lifestyle, but it must come after one last smuggle, which leads to another one last smuggle. Written By Micah Otano, Frank Ocean & Malay.

It’s an intriguing peek into his process, and it contains some of the rawest vocal takes he’s ever put out-like on the strung-out power ballad Rushes -but it lacks the clarity of Blonde. In a neat inversion, it now looks like Frank used the relatively minor Endless to fulfill his major label contract and then self-released Blonde, the main event-though both were exclusives to Apple Music, putting into question what self-released even means at this point. With Blonde ’s unobtrusive e swaths go by without any drums whatsoever-the album could be mistaken for background.

The Black Sky first came up in Season 2 of Daredevil, when Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) discovered that The Hand was behind a lot of the criminal activity he’d been dealing with throughout the series. The organization, which was able to deploy a ton of ninjas and other bad guys to try to stop Daredevil, was working on creating the Black Sky - a person turned into a living weapon. In Daredevil, the Black Sky is treated as an almost religious figure that The Hand worships, and many in the organization seem to think the person who becomes the Black Sky will lead them. Even though she might not be the magical, ultimate power The Hand seems to think she will be in Daredevil Season 2, it’s clear that Elektra as the Black Sky is still a formidable, frightening adversary. Throughout the series, the only way the heroes of The Defenders have a chance against her is if they work together.
