The NEPTUNE Ocean Observatory project is part of Ocean Networks Canada which is a University of Victoria initiative. NEPTUNE is the world's first regional-scale underwater ocean observatory that plugs directly into the Internet. Since December 2009, it has allowed people to "surf" the seafloor while ocean scientists run deep-water experiments from labs and universities around the world

Pitch black, pale blue It was a stained glass Variation of the truth And I felt empty handed. You let me set sail With cheap wood So I patched up Every leak that I could ’til the blame grew too heavy. Stitch by stitch, I tear apart If brokenness is a form of art I must be a poster child prodigy Thread by thread, I come apart If brokenness is a work of art Surely this must be my masterpiece. The songwriter uses Neptune to refer to the planet in terms of the album as a whole, but uses the imagery of the sea throughout the song, especially its fierce nature. What have the artists said about the song? Named after the god of the sea, I wrote this one with the Sea in my mind. Neptune, the planet, is considered an Ice Giant – so I tried to use as many cold and wet sounding instruments as I could. You can even hear some sampled melting Ice and snow in parts of this one!)
Neptune is the only planet in our solar system not visible to the naked ey. The ice giant Neptune was the first planet located through mathematical calculations. Using predictions made by Urbain Le Verrier, Johann Galle discovered the planet in 1846. With a radius of 15,299. 4 miles (24,622 kilometers), Neptune is about four times wider than Earth.
