Stoney and Meatloaf is the little-known collaborative album of singer Meat Loaf and female vocalist Shaun Murphy, released in 1971 on the Motown subsidiary label Rare Earth. Meat Loaf and Murphy met while performing with the Detroit cast of Hair. Producers: Ralph Terrana, Russ Terrana, Mike Valvano Arrangers: Tom Baird and David Van De Pitte. The album, titled Stoney & Meatloaf (sic, Meatloaf as one word), was completed in the summer of 1971 and released in September of that year. A single released in advance of the album, "What You See Is What You Get", reached number thirty-six on the Best Selling Soul Singles chart (the same chart is now titled Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs) and seventy-one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Meat Loaf's version of "Who Is the Leader of the People?" was released, however the album failed. More Than You Deserve. After the tour, Meat Loaf rejoined the cast of Hair, this time on Broadway. After he hired an agent, he auditioned for the Public Theater's production of More Than You Deserve.
Stoney & Meatloaf is a duet of singer Meat Loaf and Stoney (Shaun Murphy). They released one self-titled album in 1971. Meat Loaf and Murphy had met previously in the Detroit music scene, and then performed with the Detroit cast of Hair. Meat Loaf, whose name was styled "Meatloaf" on the album, had a minor hit "What You See Is What You Get". The duo disbanded when the record company cut out their vocals to "Who Is the Leader of the People?" and replaced them with Edwin Starr's vocals instead.

Can anybody upload the records Stoney & Meatloaf or Meat Loaf feat. Stoney with some decent quality. i wish Meatloaf had ALWAYS did albums like this one. i'd post it here. buut as we all know this one is an offical Release. i forget the title of the album at the moment. buut it won't be hard to find i'm sure. just to let you on a head's up. also thank you soo much for this album as well.

He is noted for the Bat out of Hell album trilogy that he created consisting of Bat out of Hell, Bat out of Hell II: Back into Hell, and Bat out of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose and several famous songs from popular films. The Neverland Express is the name of the band he fronts as its lead singer.
