The Scenery Of Farewell by Two Gallants, released 19 June 2007 1. Seems Like Home To Me 2. Lady 3. Up The Country 4. All Your Faithless Loyalties 5. Linger On Known for their aggressive, electric live shows, Two Gallants have fostered a dual musical personality by occasionally recording and playing songs with a more stripped down sound. Since the band's extensive touring schedule last year left little time for proper rehearsals, most of these songs evolved in such places as sound checks and radio appearances, where it was more conducive for them to be performed. In late 2007, Two Gallants recorded. Album opener "Seems Like Home to Me" was played frequently live last year while "All Your Faithless Loyalties" is a newer version the band had always wanted to make.

Two Gallants (album). Studio album by Two Gallants. Two Gallants is the third full-length album from the band Two Gallants, released on September 25, 2007. It follows up their EP, The Scenery of Farewell, which was released in June. The Hand That Held Me Down". Trembling of the Rose". Reflections of the Marionette".

White Stripes comparisons dogged this raucous blues duo when their first two albums arrived last year. This acoustic record, borne from a brutal tour schedule that scotched full-scale recording, should cause reassessment. It’s steeped in the ‘70s, especially Led Zeppelin’s folk side and Peckinpah Westerns, converting road song clichés into cowboy laments. Casually ragged structures are draped with woozy cellos, making this more than a demo stopgap. The proper new electric album in the autumn will have to go some to beat it. NICK HASTED.

The Scenery of Farewell is a nice complement in Two Gallants catalog, but nothing truly essential.  For fans of the group, this five song collection is probably worth checking out for songs like "Seems Like Home to Me", "Lady" and "All Your Faithless Loyalties".  Unfortunately, the biggest knock against The Scenery of Farewell is the length of several tracks.  Even "Lady" which I consider one of my favorites on this release drags on for a minute or so longer than necessary.  Although Two Gallants' work has been plagued with this in the past, they appear to have corrected it with the release of Two Gallants which I still consider to be their strongest album overall.  While I think The Scenery of Farewell from Two Gallants is worth exploring, I'd be sure to hear a couple of their albums first.
