Kinaesthetics (or kinesthetics, in American English) is the study of body motion, and of the perception (both conscious and unconscious) of one's own body motions. Kinesthesis is the learning of movements that an individual commonly performs. The individual must repeat the motions that they are trying to learn and perfect many times for this to happen. Kinaesthetics involves the teaching and personal development of such awareness.

Scott Kinsey: Kinesthetics by John Kelman, published on October 14, 2006. Kinesthetics is the sum of Kinsey's experiences to date. Its potent grooves mix with sounds that, despite being clearly electronic, feel wholly organic. Delineated solos exist throughout but all within the context of an interactive collective. What's most remarkable is that the majority of Kinesthetics was recorded in just two days with a cast of twenty including Hagans, Henderson, woodwind t Steve Tavaglione, percussionist Brad Dutz and drummer Kirk Covington

This eclectic set of jazz fusion from the keyboard player Scott Kinsey and his extensive list of sidemen conjures the late-1960s, early-'70s era of Miles Davis's extended jazz-rock-funk improvisations as well as elements of Weather Report. The cohesive interplay on cuts like the title track and "Big Rock" makes for a focused, unique-sounding effort that, while influenced by the aforementioned artists, has a distinctive, supple intelligence.
