Cut Off Your Hands are known for their brand of high-energy post-punk. Relentless touring saw them clock up countless frequent flyer miles and tear up stages alongside a who’s who of indie rock bands worldwide. The departure of vocalist Djeisan Suskov from Auckland band Nova Echo led the remaining members to form The Shaky Hands. In October 2008 the band’s debut album You & I was released in New Zealand with the inclusion of four tracks taken off their earlier EPs – ‘Expectations’, ‘Oh Girl’, ‘Still Fond’ and ‘You & I’. Before the album saw the light of day in the UK and the USA a separate promo EP, Happy As Can Be, which featured five tracks, was released.

They plan to release an EP in early 2014. Their fifth album Fandango was released on April 29 by Universal in Australasia and Memphis Industries for the rest of the world. There are two bands called The Phoenix Foundation; one from New Zealand and a lesser-known act from Finland.
