These radio transcriptions from 1939 and 1943 feature Gene Krupa in big-band settings. The 1939 Show of the Week (12 tracks) and 1943 sessions with Roy Eldridge and Charlie Ventura (12 total cuts, nine live from the Panther Room of the Hotel Sherman in Chicago) display a muddy, at times scratchy sound that digital transfer did not improve. The best sound (four tracks) is from the 1939 session during the Young Man with a Band shows. There are no duplicate selections throughout. This collection can only be recommended to completists.
