The Metropole Orkest (or Metropole Orchestra) is a multiple Grammy winning jazz and pop orchestra based in the Netherlands, and is the largest full-time ensemble of its kind in the world. A hybrid orchestra, it is a combination of jazz big band and symphony orchestra. Comprising 52 musicians, it is versatile across many musical forms, and is equipped with a "double rhythm section - one for pop and rock, and one for jazz based music.

Laura Mvula with Metropole Orchestra, 2014. Photography by Josh Shinner. Nine years later, the music was set to lyrics by Al Jarreau and Artie Maren in Jarreau’s album, THIS TIME. Among SPAIN’s most recent reincarnations, however, is another version by Jarreau, performed live more than 30 years after he recorded his original. This time a 5-piece band is replaced by the 52-piece Metropole Orkest, giving the music a tapestry of rich texture and character never experienced.
