Angel’s Bone, awarded the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Music, was premiered at the 2016 PROTOTYPE festival and co-produced by Beth Morrison Projects, HERE, and Trinity Wall Street. The work is a momentous accomplishment for intrepid composer Du Yun and librettist Royce Vavrek, and it serves as a bold example of the continued relevance of the operatic genre. The recent CD release of Angel’s Bone (conducted by Julian Wachner for the VIA Records label), is a profoundly important testament to the work’s emotional and artistic impact.

His opera Angel’s Bone with composer Du Yun was awarded the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Music. With composer Missy Mazzoli he wrote Song from the Uproar, premiered by Beth Morrison Projects in 2012, and subsequently seen in multiple presentations around the country, including at REDCAT through LA Opera's Off Grand initiative in 2015. LA Opera Off Grand presented the West Coast premiere of Dog Days at REDCAT in 2015. Little and Vavrek are currently developing an original work for the Metropolitan Opera through the Met/LCT commissioning program. Royce has also worked extensively with composer Paola Prestini, first on the song cycle Yoani, inspired by the blog posts of Yoani Sanchez, and then on The Hubble Cantata, a virtual reality oratorio produced by al Sawdust in association with Beth Morrison Projects.

Du Yun (traditional Chinese: 杜韻, simplified Chinese: 杜韵) is a Chinese born international composer, t, vocalist and performance artist. She won the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Music for her opera Angel's Bone. She was a 2018 Guggenheim Fellow. Du Yun was named as one of the 38 Great Immigrants by the Carnegie Corporation of New York in 2018 and received a 2019 Grammy nomination in the category of Best Classical Contemporary Composition for her work Air Glow.
