This is John Mayer's best record except for Continuum; I liked Heavier Things better than his debut album, although both were very good. It leans more towards a bluesy feel, which is good when you need a record that is going to play well when you are reading or enjoying a quiet evening alone. The greatest, most-slept-on album i can think of. There aren't many radio songs except for the excellent "Daughters". The way he talked about love or moods or a lack of purpose or over thinking or breakups were unlike anything I heard before.
