The act has racked up a total of seven top 10 sets, dating back to 1999’s Enema of the State, which peaked at No. 9. The new album is the group’s first without its co-founder, singer/guitarist Tom DeLonge, who departed the act in 2015. Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba has since stepped in for DeLonge. For Those’s third and final week at No. 1 was on Jan. 9, 1982 while Black Ice’s first of two frames in the penthouse was on Nov.

Whereas 2003's self-titled album had its moments, the 2011 follow-up Neighborhoods was an uninspired, stale comeback from a trio that had lost its heart and sense of fun. In the end, they sounded like imitations of younger bands they helped inspire. Skiba has assimilated, while introducing new angles to the longtime Hoppus-Barker relationship with deeper vocals and bolder guitar.

Only now things are different following the departure of guitarist Tom Delonge and the welcoming of Alkaline Trio‘s Matt Skiba to the already impressive line up consisting of bassist Mark Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker. The album opens with the Hoppus lead Cynical, slow at first with nothing but a guitar strum behind his voice when all of a sudden 29 seconds into it the rest of the band joins in, Travis Barker is on fire smashing his kit and all of a sudden a familiar vibe is felt as Mark’s long whine-like singing brings you.

Produced by John Feldmann, it is the first album by the band to feature Alkaline Trio frontman Matt Skiba, who replaced former member Tom DeLonge. After touring and releasing the band's sixth album Neighborhoods, it became difficult for the trio to record new material, due to DeLonge's side projects. Feldmann, initially the frontman of the band Goldfinger, became better known for his production work with artists such as 5 Seconds of Summer and All Time Low. Barker was the first to reach out to Feldmann about producing, as the two were good friends.
