Maury Epstein grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and had an interest in playing the guitar at the age of seven. He took piano lessons for two years upon the insistence of his mother and began playing the guitar at age ten. By the time he was thirteen he was playing in a rock band with two of his classmates and within the next three years did two recordings with the group and won several battle of the bands. During this time Maury also began work on an album entitled "The Maury Story. The album features the phenomenal talents of tenor saxophonist Mark Turner, pianist Dave Kikoski, bassist John Benitez, and drummer Cecil Brooks III. The album was also produced by Cecil Brooks III and features three of Maury's originals as well as five choice standards. The Maury Story" will be released on Bluejay Records.

Maury Epstein grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. Over the past 20 plus years he has had the opportunity to live, perform, teach and study in NYC, Rochester, Michigan, Boston, Florida, Washington and more as well as in Europe and Israel. Maury has taught guitar at Columbia University and Jazz History at Middlesex College and has also taught and performed music at Lincoln Center and The Kennedy Center. He worked as a music teacher in New York City, Cleveland and Israel with children of various ages in both public schools and private schools.

Maury (originally known as The Maury Povich Show) is a syndicated American tabloid talk show hosted by Maury Povich. When the series first aired in 1991, the show was called The Maury Povich Show and was produced by MoPo Productions Inc. in association with Paramount Domestic Television. The show adopted the title Maury in the 1995–1996 season. The show was then revamped in the 1998–1999 season, when Studios USA (now NBCUniversal) took over production.

The Maury Yeston Songbook has been added to your Cart. Maury Yeston may be musical theatre's unsung genius to the public at large, but I've heard his praises sung many times. The same with "Grand Hotel".

For a songwriter who has won two Tony Awards for best score (Nine and Titanic), Maury Yeston has flown surprisingly far under the radar, relatively little-known even among musical theater fans. That he is not famous with the general public is understandable just because he has worked in an age when show tunes don't tend to get on the hit parade, and when cast albums only occasionally get in the charts.
