Sound - 8 A Natural Death is a new album by five Californian angry metalists, raised in the tough, gritty landscapes of Lake Forest (as per their short biography). They call themselves street-smart emo-rockers. Not sure what that means, but I don't have any other choice than to agree as the music is something indefinable. The songs are about arrogance of creation and destruction, the brutality of nature, the horror of birth and the beauty of death. The band hopes the album will stop the human race to take itself so seriously and they try to convince people with the idea You are nothing. Deep, interesting, but stale. Nathan's vocals are diverse, but not too exciting.

A Natural Death is the fourth studio album by Horse the Band. This is the band's last album with bassist Dashiell Arkenstone and the only one with drummer Chris Prophet. Everyone who will ever live will die a natural death, and will soon after be forgotten for eternity. Hopefully this album will serve as a warning to the human race to stop taking itself so seriously, as we have seen the dire consequences of its actions in the future. Imagine, if you will, what Dream Theater would be life if they were formed at the turn of the century rather than the late 80s, and influenced by the hardcore scene rather than 80s metal. Now, imagine if the members of this new Dream Theater were all slightly retarded. What would they be like? "Horse the Band" is your answer. A Natural Death" is maybe not the best Horse the Band album, but its certainly not below the others.
