The Flying Burrito Bros is the third album by the country rock group, The Flying Burrito Brothers, released in the spring of 1971. Before recording sessions for the album began, Gram Parsons departed from the band for a solo career, leaving Chris Hillman and "Sneaky" Pete Kleinow to carry on. In Parsons' place, the band hired a young unknown musician named Rick Roberts, who later was the primary lead singer of Firefall. Over the winter of 1970 to 1971 the band returned to Sunset Studios to record their third album. With Jim Dickson again the producer, assisted by Bob Hughes, the group developed original pieces mainly from Chris Hillman and Rick Roberts, along with a revisitation of a Bob Dylan composition. Several outtakes from the recording sessions later appeared on several compilations following the band's demise.

The Flying Burrito Brothers was an early country rock band founded in 1968, best known for its influential debut album, 1969's The Gilded Palace Of Sin. Although the group is most often mentioned in connection with country rock legends Gram Parsons and Chris Hillman, the group underwent many personnel changes. Chris Hillman and Al Perkins joined Manassas, while Byron Berline, Roger Bush and Kenny Wertz formed Country Gazette. Roberts reassembled a new group for a 1973 European tour, and then began a solo career before forming Firefall with Michael Clarke.

Following the somewhat disappointing Burrito Deluxe, Gram Parsons and the Flying Burrito Brothers parted ways, leaving the band - especially co-founder Chris Hillman - with a huge void to fill. For its eponymous third album, the group decided on Rick Roberts, a singer/songwriter with a strong, clear tenor who had headed west after leaving college in South Carolina. It's apparent that Roberts owes more to the .
The Flying Burrito Brothers helped forge the connection between rock and country, and with their 1969 debut album, The Gilded Palace of Sin, they virtually invented the blueprint for country-rock. Though the band's glory days were brief, they left behind a small body of work that proved vastly influential both in rock and country. The Flying Burrito Brothers reunited later in the '70s, albeit without their founding members Gram Parsons and Chris Hillman, and continued performing and recording in a variety of incarnations into the '80s
The Flying Burrito Brothers were founded in 1968 in Los Angeles, California by Gram Parsons, bassist/keyboardist Chris Ethridge, pedal steel guitarist Sneaky Pete Kleinow and esteemed session drummer Fast Eddie Hoh rounded out the initial lineup. The new lineup releasing The Flying Burrito Bros in June 1971, like its predecessors, it was a commercial failure, shortly thereafter, Kleinow left to become a session musician, while Leadon departed to co-found The Eagles at the behest of Linda Ronstadt. The band released Last of the Red Hot Burritos, a live album culled from the tour.
The Flying Burrito Brothers are an American country rock band, best known for their influential 1969 debut album, The Gilded Palace of Sin. Although the group is perhaps best known for its connection to band founders Gram Parsons and Chris Hillman (formerly of the Byrds), the group underwent many personnel changes and has existed in various incarnations. A lineup with no original members (and derived from the 2000s-era Burrito Deluxe) currently performs as The Burrito Brothers.
