Live in Japan (Sarah Vaughan album). Live in Japan is a 1973 live album by the American jazz singer Sarah Vaughan, recorded at the Nakano Sun Plaza Hall in Tokyo, Japan. The two volumes were released separately. A double compact disc set was issued in 1993. In 2007, the United States Library of Congress honored the album by adding it to the National Recording Registry.

The instrumentalists comprised Billy Taylor Sr. bass, clarinet Tony Scott, drums . Heard, guitars Freddie Green and Mundell Lowe, piano Jimmy Jones, on tenor saxophone Budd Johnson, trombone Bennie Green, and trumpet Miles Davis. The 8 songs were later incorporated into 1955's Sarah Vaughan in Hi-Fi. The music was written by Raymond Hubbell, the lyrics by John L. Golden. The song was published in 1916. It was introduced in the Broadway show The Big Show, which opened in August 1916 at the New York Hippodrome, and was sung in the show by Sophie Bernard.
