Periphery is the debut studio album by American progressive metal band Periphery, signed by Sumerian Records and released on April 20, 2010. Many songs on the tracklist had been written long before the release date-with some written by original lead vocalist Casey Sabol-but due to membership changes, the album was postponed on several occasions. Former vocalist Chris Barretto had nearly finished recording the album before he and the band parted ways months before its release

Periphery is an American progressive metal band based in Washington, . Their musical style has been described as progressive metal, djent, and progressive metalcore. They are considered one of the pioneers of the djent movement within progressive metal. The band consists of vocalist Spencer Sotelo, guitarists Misha Mansoor, Mark Holcomb, Jake Bowen, and drummer Matt Halpern.

Many songs on the track list had been written long before the release date but due to vocalist complications the debut album had been postponed on several occasions. Former vocalist Chris Barretto had nearly finished recording the album before he and the band parted ways months before its release.

Periphery’s self-titled debut is a metal masterpiece and will always be remembered by all, no matter how long this band lasts. The amount of progression and genre-defying acts that Periphery does in this record is inconceivable and can only be believed if you listen to it. I would give this album a perfect score and I have exceptionally high expectations for their next record, because it’s hard to believe that it can get any better than this.

Periphery return with the 6th studio album oddly titled Periphery IV: Hail Stan. One of the leading bands in the Djent movement, Periphery have continually shown growth and maturity with each album and their latest is the culmination of what this band has been aiming towards. The aggressive nature is still very much intact, but this time with more diversity, more melody, and just fantastic songwriting. If you have not given this band a chance before, this is the album to do so. Look no further than the stunning opener Reptile, perhaps the best song the band has done to date.

My copy is flawless so i guess i got lucky. One of my favourite albums of all time and definitely worth a listen if you want to get into purrifery.

I'll second that my copy sounds great. Very little surface noise. Looks cool as hell if that matters to you, and, to me, this is one of the most accessible and universally enjoyable djent albums of all time. Songs are catchy, not just heavy. You like Perry Fairy? You need this.

Heyyo, been hearing a lot of scuttlebutt over on Facebook about this pressing. Apparently many copies have pitting/popping on side B. Though, apparently I got lucky? Gorgeous copy and all sides sound great, very happy with the repress!

Apparently a lot of A/B sides were like this. Mine is luckily not. Definitely a problematic pressing.
