On my quest to see if Iron Maiden is really this legendary metal band, I am now on their follow up to their self titled debut. Killers" is an album that I once again never really paid attention to all the way through. Every Iron Maiden and metal fan needs to hear Killers. I'm not entirely sure why this album went lower in the UK charts than it's unnecessarily lo-fi predecessor, but it is fun to bust Di'Anno fanboys' balls with that fact, especially since for a bunch of supposed anti-establishment punk they sure do love the numbers game. Ignore those dickheads. Ignore the Bruce fanboys as well for that matter. This album's bloodlust will defy all your needs! Ooooooo, look out, it's coming for you! Ha. ha.

Killers is Iron Maiden's second offering, and is solid throughout. While I like the debut album a tad better, this album still resonates with me. The musicianship on the album is probably a little better and more complex than it's predecessor, but I prefer the songs on the first album. I'm only comparing this album to the first for the simple fact that these two are the only releases with Paul Di'Anno on vocals. Killers, is a bittersweet album for me. On one end this album introduces the fabulous melodic guitar work of Adrian Smith, on the other end we lose the masterful skill of guitarist Dennis Stratton and the punk powerhouse vocals of Paul Di'Anno. This brutal follow-up to the self-titled debut album, Iron Maiden has definitely earned it's place among metal album greats! Killers features a rougher style than it's predecessor, both vocally and instrumentally.
