Natural History: The Very Best of Talk Talk is a 1990 greatest hits album by Talk Talk. It collects songs that the band released under EMI between 1982 and 1988. The compilation spent 21 weeks on the UK Albums Chart, peaking at and went on to sell over one million copies worldwide. The North American version appended two live bonus tracks. A companion collection of the band's music videos was released in July 1990.

The best tracks would have to be the live version of ' Tomorrow's Started', ' Give It Up' and ' I Believe In You'. Overall though a very polished album which is hard to come by with compilations. Recommended for anyone wanting to get to know Talk Talk a little bit more. All songs are well produced though. If youīre curious about how Talk Talk sounds this is a good introduction to their music. Just be sure to get their best album Laughing Stock as well.
Talk Talk went from being New Romantic clones to experimental jazz-esque pioneers in the space of less than 7 years - as recorded here. The bonus of having their (frankly excellent, if mildly disturbing) videos finally on DVD makes this an utterly essential, and extremely good value purchase. Most are directed by Tim Pope, who focussed on great ideas and mood, rather than special effects. Natural History is a must for all fans of Talk Talk, and those who appreciate beautiful, quality music.
