Jay Dee Bentley (born June 6, 1964, Wichita, Kansas) is the bassist and co-founding member of the punk rock group Bad Religion. He has played with the band through its whole existence with a small break between 1983 and 1985. Jay Bentley grew up in Saugus, California, and later moved to Woodland Hills. As with guitarist Brett Gurewitz and lead singer Greg Graffin, he was a student of El Camino Real High School

Jay Bentley (born June 6, 1964) is the bassist and co-founding member of the legendary punk rock group Bad Religion. In 1983, just prior to exiting Bad Religion, Jay joined Wasted Youth. After he quit BR, he briefly joined . but exited when original bassist Mike Roche rejoined the group. After his stint with . frontman Jack Grisham's new band, Cathedral Of Tears, but again, his tenure was brief and he left Wasted Youth shortly thereafter, too.

Bad Religion bassist Jay Bentley recently spoke with Ground Control magazine on the band's upcoming fifteenth studio album. They are considered to be one of the punk rock acts of all time. Bad Religion had built a following in the United States with their early albums before signing to Atlantic Records in 1993. They rose to fame that year with their seventh studio album and major-label debut Recipe for Hate. Shortly before the release of Stranger than Fiction, Gurewitz left Bad Religion to run his label Epitaph on a full-time basis, the band is expected to release their seventeenth studio album in 2017.
