The only previously unreleased track was "Dedication", which was reconstructed after Phil Lynott's death using an old 8 track demo recording of the Grand Slam song originally recorded around 1985 and written by guitarist Laurence Archer.

Several Thin Lizzy best-of collections have surfaced over the years (such as 1981's Adventures of Thin Lizzy and 1984's Lizzy Lives!), but the best two are undeniably 1996's Wild One and 1991's Dedication. While not as extensive as Wild One (only one track is featured from their '80s work), Dedication contains more early selections than the other mentioned titles. This 'best of' album is just that, a very good representation of Thin Lizzy/Philip Lynott at their/his best. I will just say that this album is very near the pinnacle of what true Classic Rock is, not Pop Rock, Hard Rock or Metal, but Rock. Thin Lizzy songs sound better today then when they came out which demonstrates their enduring quality. ABout 8 years ago, at the same time, I bought a Deep Purple compilation and this Thin Lizzy compilation. Back in the 70's, Deep Purple was considered a much better band but, in retrospect, Thin Lizzy was a much better band. Deep Purple sounds dated while Thin Lizzy sounds contemporary.
