Bohemian Rhapsody: The Original Soundtrack is the soundtrack album to the 2018 biographical film of the same name. The soundtrack features several Queen songs and unreleased recordings including several tracks from the group's performance at Live Aid in 1985. The soundtrack was released by Hollywood Records and Virgin EMI Records on 19 October 2018, on CD, cassette and digital formats. The soundtrack was later released on 8 February 2019, as a vinyl double album specially cut at Abbey Road Studios

Queen played only the first half of Bohemian Rhapsody" opening their Live Aid set-list on-film (true to life, live). It segues into Radio Ga Ga instead of the opera section. Of course, the soundtrack dons the full studio version of the song, from their 1975 album opus A Night at the Opera. The original film soundtrack for Bohemian Rhapsody, the much-anticipated Queen biopic is set for release through Virgin EMI (Universal) in the UK and through Hollywood Records in the US on 19 October. The album will also include audio tracks from Live Aid, the historic Wembley concert from July 1985. These Live Aid songs are among the rare gems and unheard versions from the band’s rich catalogue. Alongside the show-stopping Live Aid performances of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, ‘Radio Ga Ga’, ‘Hammer To Fall’ and ‘We Are The Champions’, the album features other rare live tracks spanning Queen’s entire.

I wish I had taken more stock of the reviews below. This is one of the worst pressings I have heard in many years, I would even say I have bootlegs that are better.The main issue is the unbelievable amount of groove noise, not clicks pops or crackle , just a continual whoosh as the record turns. Quite unacceptable from a major label. Picture discs inherently carry more noise than standard vinyl, this is understood, but this is at another level. The vinyl is also extremely thick yet is no heavier than a normal picture disc, I do wonder is the paper/ card used to carry the picture is overly thick.Personally it's going back and I shall seek a black vinyl version.

My mam loves Queen even though she is very religious and some of the more lurid details about Freddie's "sexploits" chill her to the bone. Once she was lucky enough to meet Brian May at a train station. She said he was ever such a nice man but his breath was quite smelly!!

Bohemian Rhapsody The Original Soundtrack (0602567988762) on vinyl gets a special re-release, three months after its initial release day for Record Store Day 2019, this time on two picture discs rather than black vinyl.Pros====- The gatefold sleeve and picture discs are superbly designed.Cons====- *Massive* amounts of surface noise, to the point of distracting and it ruins the songs and experience, especially on Side B. It is noticeable on the other sides, on the pauses and quiet parts, but Side B suffers the worst. I understand that picture discs do suffer from surface noise due to their nature, but this is the worst I have ever experienced - The die cut holes in the cover make the gatefold sleeve feel flimsy and these is no inside printing. So, when you take the disc out, you are left with the original sleeve colour in the background. The designer should had made it purple- No download code! Considering this expensive release, it's unforgivable there is no download code- The plastic sleeves the discs come in are a very tight fit; care is needed when taking out and putting the discs away.Is it worth the purchase? Consider I spent £53 for this release on Record Store Day, I have to say No. The surface noise on the discs make the album unplayable. If it's the sound quality you are after, then you may want to consider buying the original black vinyl version (full disclosure, I don't have the black vinyl version, but it must sound better than this!). If you are massive Queen fan, you're going to get this release either way, but you will be disappointed with the sound quality on this picture disc release.Equipment: Audio Technica ATLP-120 USB with Audio Technica AT-VM95E MM Cartridge, Yahama R-S20D2D Receiver, Yahama NSF51 Speakers

100% agree about the pressing. I thought it was just my ears, until I had the wife listen. Most evident on the initial track on side 4 of Bohemian Rhapsody from Live Aid. A LOT of surface noise. This is my first picture disc, and, from what I have read, that can lead to a lot of surface noise. Not sure what our recourse is... It's not like I can take it back for an exchange.

Had some surface marks on side 1 & 2. Gave the records a good cleaning other than one pop at the start of one song no issues. Miles did good!! The sound quality is excellent! This is a record you can show off to friends with an adult beverage :-)

Good compliment to the movie. Some of the live recordings, by their very nature, were not very good, but they are still enjoyable to hear along with the energy brought in a live venue. Not all the songs are live though, and you can tell the difference, and they are great as well! My pressing is really quite good, no complaints.

Just opened my copy big scratch on record 1 side 1 track 1, Then I remove record 2 and there is large ring of scratches on side 2 and a nice piece of what I can only assume is vinyl stuck on the record standing up nearly 1/8" off the surface. I posted a nice pic on Hollywood Records facebook page....For the price of these things they really need to have better quality control, it's like this thing was shoved into the sleeve before it had the chance to cool from the stamping. $60 record in Canada.
