Queen is a British rock band formed in London in 1970 from a previously disbanded Smile (6). Originally called Smile, in 1970 singer Freddie Mercury came up with the new name for the band. John Deacon joined in March 1971, giving them their fourth and final bass player). The band has released a total of 18 number-one albums, 18 number-one singles and 10 number-one DVDs, and have sold over 300 million albums worldwide, making them one of the world's best-selling music artists . A Night At The Opera (Album, EP). 305 versions.
Queen formed in 1971 and in 1973 signed their first recording contract for EMI. That year they released their first album, Queen. The same year saw their first major UK tour, and in 1974 they released Queen II as well as making their first UK headlining tour. They made their first US tour, and in November released Sheer Heart Attack which was a hit on both sides of the Atlantic. 1975 saw their new release, A Night At The Opera, and – significantly – the single Bohemian Rhapsody
The Magic Tour was Queen's final tour with their lead singer Freddie Mercury and their bass guitarist John Deacon, with 26 concert dates in Europe in 1986. The band would not tour again until 19 years later, when the Queen + Paul Rodgers Tour began in 2005, after the death of Mercury on 24 November 1991, and the retirement of Deacon in 1997. The Magic Tour supported the band's album A Kind of Magic.
A Night At The Opera album is a masterpiece. Everything from its title to the music, the whole pomp and circumstance of the entire package is majestic. Work on Queen’s fourth album, another co-produced by the band along with Roy Thomas Baker, began in August 1975, and it was only finished shortly before the opening date of their tour at Liverpool’s Empire Theatre on 14 November. A Night At The Opera, as we all now know, is a masterpiece. Everything from its title (one that is borrowed from The Marx Brothers 1935 movie) to the music, the album’s artwork and the whole pomp and circumstance of the entire package is majestic. Here it is: the Spinal Tap-like, end-of-career live album recorded on that final Japanese tour. Everybody's done it, and Night Ranger certainly doesn't break the mold with this efficient greatest-hits set. By spanning their entire '80s career and containing virtually every major hit ("Sister Christian," "Man in Motion," "Don't tell me You Love Me"), the album proves that this much-maligned group's music has actually aged better than that of many of their peers
