Description

Thin Lizzy still perform on an occasional basis and the line-up now consists of longtime guitarist Scott Gorham, original drummer Brian Downey, keyboardist Darren Wharton, and three other members who were not present during the band's main recording career. - Re-released (2007) exclusively in Canada as "Black Boys On The Corner (1970–1974)" with several differences.

Nightlife is the fourth studio album by Irish band Thin Lizzy, released in 1974. It was produced by Ron Nevison and bandleader Phil Lynott, and was the first album to feature the band as a quartet with newcomers Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson on guitars. Some reissue CDs, and occasionally other sources, spell the album title as Night Life, the same as the song title. However the original album title is Nightlife. The song "Philomena" was written for Lynott's mother.

Thin Lizzy was originally formed in Dublin, Ireland in the year 1969. The founding members Phil Lynott and Brian Downey knew each from their school years. The band would release their first album in 1971 entitled Thin Lizzy. From that point on Thin Lizzy would continue to release records until their final album Thunder and Lightning with Phil Lynott was released in 1983. Phil Lynott went on to record some solo albums and worked with other musicians up until his death in 1986. He would join the Thin Lizzy reunion tour in 2010. He performed on the new album the band recorded in 2013 which was eventually released under the name Black Star Riders. The song Southbound, was the closing number on side one of Thin Lizzy’s phenomenal Bad Reputation album. The song opens up with some very sweet melodic guitar lines that set the tone for Phil’s iconic vocal line.

Excerpt from notes on back cover: "This compilation gathers the loose THIN LIZZY ends into one package that traces all the singles of their early career, 1970-1974. With the only exception of "The Rocker" none of these tracks appeared on the three albums THIN LIZZY recorded for Decca in the early 1970's."

Plastic wrap contained sticker with the words:
"Music & DVD FROM Import Around The World".

This release's cover is different than three other London Records releases made around the same: it does not have the label's logo on the cover while the following do:
LC 50009
LC 50006
LC 50003.
